Dear Brethren:
Last Month we were saddened by the passing to the Celestial of Lodge Brothers Eric Wold and Richard Stephen Ottewell. They will be sorely missed by those who knew them as good Men and MasonsWe were pleased to have 5 Fellowcrafts pass their Proficiencywith flying colors. We were also pleased to have 3 Brothers Passed to the Degree e of Fellowcraft.
The Golf Tournament is moving forward and I am hopeful that we will See greater participation in terms of YOU , our Brothers that are Golfers, step up to the plate and with 3 of your golf buddies, subscribe to a foursome and have some fun in our Tournament. What you get for the cost of the entrance fee,—you get Brunch, a round of Golf for 4 players,, Golf Cart Lunch, and a bunch of freebees including shirt, bag, golf balls, etc. and three-quarters of it is tax-deductible. A Bargain! So please consider having your friends or business associates enter our Tournament and help make it a huge success! And did I mention it is mostly Tax Deductible?
Summary of Grand Lodge Proposals I urge every Mason to attend our May 3rd meeting where our Senior Warden will discuss upcoming proposals and you can have your input on how you think about each one. This Grand Lodge will affect your pocketbook.
YOUR CABLETOW—-What is your Cable tow? It symbolizes the tie you have with your Masonic World. It can be visualized as not unlike the cord which unites the unborn child to the mother. Just as the cord is cut to be replaced by love and care, so is the Masonic cord replaced by a stronger bond...the Mystic Tie of Brotherly Love. With the removal of the cabletow, you have placed your self under an obligation and Brother Gent Kumi (N.C.) at the same time, because the rope has two ends, the Fraternity has placed itself under an obligation to you. How long is your cabletow? It is as long as you want it to be. It will reach as far as your moral principles go, or your material conditions will allow. But if the cord of each Freemason were tied around the world, no earthly power could break the bond of brotherhood. It is truly the Mystic tie that binds the Craft together. This tie keeps the house undivided. In the Fellowcraft Degree we say that the Cabletow Means “Y H a B P”. Please ask yourself what is Your Cabletow and what has been keeping you from enjoying the benefits of the Fraternity and Fellowship of our Lodge. Make a self-examination and see what you find!
Fraternally, Jay Obeid Worshipful Master
